Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is a collaborative hybrid academy?
A collaborative hybrid academy combines the benefits of classroom instruction with the flexibility and discipleship of home education. At Pilgrim Way, students attend school on-campus two days a week and complete their home lessons on the other days using plans provided by their teachers. It’s a true partnership between parents and educators — with Christ at the center.
2. What days are students on campus?
Students attend class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with select Flex Fridays scheduled throughout the year for enrichment, service, or family-based activities.
3. What are “Home Learning Days”?
Home Learning Days are on Mondays and Wednesdays. Parents teach their children at home using lesson plans, materials, and support provided by our teachers. You are not expected to create your own curriculum — we walk with you every step of the way.
4. Do I have to be a certified teacher to homeschool my child on Home Days?
No. Parents are not required to be certified teachers. Our role is to equip and encourage you. We provide detailed lesson plans and support so you can confidently disciple and educate your child at home. All of our students are considered homeschool students.
5. What grades do you offer?
For the 2025–2026 school year, we offer:
K-10th Grade
In future years, we plan to expand to serve all grade levels.
6. Is Pilgrim Way accredited?
We are not accredited by the state, as our primary aim is discipleship and partnership with parents — not conformity to secular education standards. However, our academic content is rigorous, and we provide all records, transcripts, and assessments needed for portfolio documentation or homeschool reporting.
7. What curriculum do you use?
We carefully select Christ-centered, academically strong curriculum that supports a biblical worldview. While specific curriculum may vary by grade, parents are informed and guided every step of the way. All materials are included in the curriculum fee.
8. Is Pilgrim Way only for Christian families?
Yes. While students are not required to profess personal faith, parents must agree with and sign our Statement of Faith to enroll. All teaching, discipline, and school culture are rooted in the authority of Scripture.
9. What is the tuition?
For the 2025–2026 school year:
Tuition: $4,000 per student
Curriculum Fee: $500 per student
Enrollment Fee: $150 (non-refundable)
Full tuition and fees information is on our Admissions page.
10. Is there financial aid or multi-student discounts?
At this time, we do not offer financial aid or discounts, as we are intentionally keeping tuition as low as possible for all families. We trust God will provide and are happy to work with families on payment timelines when needed.
11. What is your class size?
Class sizes are intentionally small to allow for close teacher-student relationships, personalized instruction, and a peaceful, home-like learning environment.
12. What does a typical day look like?
Students arrive at 8:30 AM and begin the day together in chapel from 8:30–9:00. After chapel, students break into classrooms by “forms” — groupings of similar ages:
Form 1: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
Form 2: 3rd – 5th Grade
Form 3: 6th – 10th Grade (this year)
(Future plans include Form 4 for high school expansion)
From 9:00 to 10:30, students work on their main subjects. Around 10:30, they enjoy a recess/snack break Instruction resumes from 11:00 to 12:30.
At 12:30, all students gather for lunch in our fellowship hall. Lunch lasts until 1:00 PM (students bring their own lunch from home). The afternoon block includes electives, enrichment, and hands-on nature-based learning.
Our on-campus days are structured, but peaceful — focused on learning, worship, and joyful community.
13. Where are you located?
At Hagarville Baptist Church located at 320 Co Rd 3760, Lamar, AR 72846.
13. How do I get started?
Start by filling out our Interest Form. We’ll follow up to schedule a call or you can plan to attend an information meeting/tour. From there, you’ll complete the application and submit your enrollment and curriculum fees once accepted.
