Our Statement of Faith

At Pilgrim Way Academy, we uphold the historic Christian faith and submit fully to the authority of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is sufficient for all matters of life, faith, and godliness, and we joyfully affirm the following core doctrines:

1. The Authority and Sufficiency of Scripture

We believe the Bible — consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21). It is sufficient for all matters of faith and practice.
We reject any claim of new revelation or extra-biblical prophecy that adds to or contradicts Scripture (Deuteronomy 4:2; Galatians 1:8–9). The Bible is our final authority in all areas of life and doctrine.

2. The Sovereignty of God

We affirm that God is sovereign over all creation, salvation, and history. He ordains whatsoever comes to pass for His glory and the good of His people (Psalm 115:3; Romans 8:28; Ephesians 1:11).

3. The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

4. Salvation by Grace Alone through Faith Alone in Christ Alone

Salvation is a sovereign work of God’s grace, accomplished through the atoning work of Jesus Christ and applied by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:23–25; John 3:5–8).

5. Biblical Worship and the Work of the Holy Spirit

We affirm that worship must be conducted in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, and sanctifies believers.
We reject emotionalism, unbiblical manifestations, and the self-appointed offices of apostles or prophets who claim authority apart from Scripture (1 Corinthians 14:33, 40; 1 John 4:1; 2 Timothy 3:16–17).

6. The Church

Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church, which is made up of all true believers. The local church is essential for worship, discipleship, accountability, and spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:11–16; Colossians 1:18; Hebrews 10:24–25).

7. The Sanctity of Marriage and Family

Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, instituted by God as the foundation of the family and a reflection of Christ and His Church (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22–33; Matthew 19:4–6).

8. The Role of Parents in Education

We believe that parents are the primary educators and disciplers of their children. Pilgrim Way Academy exists to assist and support families in providing a Christ-centered education (Deuteronomy 6:4–9; Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6).

9. The Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the bodily and glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead. He will bring His people into everlasting joy and condemn the unrepentant to eternal punishment (Matthew 25:31–46; Revelation 20:11–15; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).

Further Affirmations and Denials

  • We affirm that God may allow suffering, illness, and hardship for His purposes. Lack of healing or material blessing is not necessarily due to insufficient faith (Romans 8:18–39; 2 Timothy 3:12; 1 Peter 4:12–19).

  • We deny that financial prosperity is a guaranteed sign of God’s favor. True blessing is found in contentment and faithful stewardship (Philippians 4:12–13; Matthew 6:19–21).

  • We affirm that faith is not a force to manipulate God, but a humble trust in His will and character (Hebrews 11:1–3; James 1:6).

  • We uphold God’s design for human sexuality: sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman. All sexual activity outside of this covenant is sin (Genesis 2:24; Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11).

  • We affirm that God created humanity male and female. Any attempt to alter or reject one’s biological sex denies His good design. True flourishing comes through submission to God’s created order (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 1:26–28).

Agreement with Our Statement of Faith

As part of the enrollment process, all parents/guardians must sign in agreement with this Statement of Faith. While students are not required to personally profess these beliefs, all instruction and school activities are firmly rooted in these convictions. Respectful participation is expected.
